"Eminescu lives through us"
We thank God for having ordained to bring to a successful conclusion the fifth edition of the event "Eminescu lives through us", organized by our association in collaboration with the County Museum, Botosani. With each new edition, we try to celebrate Mihai Eminescu by singing him, reciting him, playing his dramatic work, carrying him in our hearts and thoughts, but most of all, bringing him to the attention of children and young Romanians who need Eminescu's work to truly understand his historical mission.
As Romanians, as Botoșăneni, we have a duty to honor the one who is or should be our highest ideal of Romanianism. On Saturday, January 15, 2022, during the 5th edition of the commemorative performance "Eminescu lives through us", the ancient theater troupe "KATHARSIS", coordinated by Prof. Dr. Coca Dorica, highlighted the vital dramatic work of Eminescu through the play "Decebal". The performance took place at the County Museum of History, Botoșani and included poetic moments by students of the Orthodox Theological High School Seminary "Sf. Gheorghe" Botoșani, trained by prof. Țifrea Corina, as well as students from the School "Ștefan cel Mare", coordinating teacher Cărăușu Alina. That is why the KATHARSIS Ancient Theatre Company wanted to correct this historical mistake by staging the dramatic poem Decebal. This poem is the subject of the poet's meditation on the historical act of the confluence between the death of one nation and the birth of another from its own ashes, the Phönix moment of the Romanian nation.
The event was attended by about a hundred people from Botoșăneni, most of them children, all eager to honor the memory of Mihai Eminescu.Enthusiastic young people, truly beautiful and enthusiastic, particularly well prepared by the coordinating teachers. Looking at them, we mirrored our eyes in the bright eyes of tomorrow's Romania. Because if we refer to the words of John W. Whitehead, the message that we transmit to the world of tomorrow through these children is one full of hope and pure faith. Long live the nation!
