In 2016, the association "Botoșan Shield" was founded, after Bogdan Cărăușu, Andrei Gheorghe and Vîlceanu Mihai joined forces to conceive, organize and carry out activities aimed at preparing and training young people, as well as initiating and developing actions and programs to preserve national identity.
Six years have passed since then, six beautiful years in which members and volunteers of the association have designed, organized and carried out dozens of projects through which hundreds of young people from Botosani have been involved in activities designed to help them in their own training and personal development.
Dozens of training courses, seminars, competitions, conferences, symposia, festivals, public debates, as well as public events, marches, work camps, afforestation actions and survival camps were organised.
Dozens of non-formal educational programmes for young people have been designed, promoted and carried out in collaboration with educational institutions (schools, high schools, universities) and non-governmental organisations with common interests with those of the association.
Together we have organised a variety of complex educational boot camp programmes (a complex programme consisting of non-formal training sessions, excursions, outdoor activities and more).

"Botoșa Shield" has carried out dozens of philanthropic (humanitarian) and social solidarity actions, carried out through volunteering, through donations and with the participation of other NGOs.
We encouraged cultural cooperation and involvement of young people and adults in civic activities of community interest.
We have carried out environmental and sustainable development activities and education on protecting the natural environment.

The "Botoșoara Shield" Association is the organizer of the inter-communal contest of plastic arts - "Saints of the Prisons" - a contest already at its fourth edition. The competition has involved, over the three editions, hundreds of high school students and dozens of coordinating teachers.
The Association is also the organizer of the cultural and artistic event "Eminescu lives through us", an event that has reached its fourth edition.
In 2018, the association "Botoșani Shield" organized the project (co-financed by the City Hall of Botoșani) "Botoșani supports the reunification of Romania". In the framework of the project, 50 children from the Republic of Moldova, students of the "Mircea Eliade" Theoretical High School in Chisinau, were guests of Botoșani for three days. Through the activities, the Botoșan volunteers of the association interacted with the young Basarabian children, Romanian children from both sides of the Prut River discovering their common roots.

We sought to reach cardinal points of Romanianism and spirituality in the north of the country, by visiting sights such as the "Nicolae Iorga" Memorial House, the Stephan Church of Popăuți Monastery, the Ipotești Memorial, Vorona Monastery, Putna Monastery and the Ceteatea de Scaun of Suceva.
In spite of the busy schedule, the children showed interest in learning about their own history, values and the faith of the Romanian nation they belong to. Their young souls vibrated at the words about the universality of Eminescian genius, the erudition of Nicolae Iorga and the courage of Stephen the Great. The openness with which they embraced their new friends and the rapidity with which friendships were forged cannot be attributed solely to the naivety of age. They followed the natural course of the feeling of belonging to the same people, the awareness that we are members of the same family.

The funds for the association's actions come from donations and funding from individuals and, to a very small extent, from legal entities.
